Ras Laffan Combined-Cycle Power Plant

Ras Laffan combined-cycle Power Plant in Qatar is a large power generation and desalination project with highly complex electric systems connected to power grids. It generates 2730 MW electricity and over 238,000 m³ drinking water, equivalent to 30% of Qatar’s power generation and 20% of Qatar’s water consumption.

AGG provides 8 sets of 3100kVA,11.5kV gensets to work as the black-start gensets. These gensets should operate in high ambient temperature and meet the performance requirements for black startup. That’s why this project is difficult to implement.
