Shanghai World Financial Center, completed in 2008, was the first skyscraper at that time. It’s the second tallest building in China, the world's third tallest building, the world's highest flat-roofed building, 492 meters tall, 101 floors on the ground.

This project uses 4 sets of 10.5kV 2500kVA diesel gensets. It’s the first successful application of medium voltage gensets to ultra-high-rise buildings in China. The gensets are placed in the B2F floor generator room. When two main power supply failure occurs, the four generating units should activate within 30 seconds at the same time to provide the building emergency power. The generator sets are in hot standby mode for 7*24 hours.
